PLIK Lab

Privacy note

PLIK Lab is a personal creative project, not a company. Last updated: 2026-10-23.

The kids' side

Magical Pen is a separate web app (pen.plik.fun). It needs no sign-up, asks for no child's name, and shows no ads; for the anonymous visit statistics, see "The website itself" below. What a child writes is handled in the browser on your device and is not sent to me automatically.

Magical Pen remembers settings in your browser's local storage (localStorage), such as the practice word a parent types, the language, sound on or off, and how much ink. All of this stays on that device.

A problem report is sent only when a parent taps "Send report" in Parent settings. It includes a screenshot of the page before settings were opened (which may show the name or word your child is writing), any note you add, the app version, device and browser information, and recent app actions. The report goes through a small PLIK Lab relay on Cloudflare and arrives in my inbox as an email; the relay itself keeps no copy. If sending fails, you can use the share menu instead and choose where it goes.

Parent feedback

The feedback box on the Magical Pen page is for parents. I collect only what you choose to type: your child's age range, whether they would play again, what they liked and didn't, and your thoughts. Email is optional and is used only to reply to that one message; it does not sign you up for anything.

Please do not enter your child's name, school, photos, or anything else that could identify them.

After you submit, your feedback is stored in a database on this site's Cloudflare account, and I get an email notification with a copy. It is not passed to any other third party.

How I use it

To improve Magical Pen and what PLIK Lab makes next and, without identifying anyone, to describe overall results when sharing publicly (for example, "how many parents said their child wanted to play again"). I do not sell it, use it for advertising, or combine it with other data to identify you.

Retention and deletion

Feedback is kept for up to 12 months. Problem reports and feedback notifications stay in my inbox as emails. To delete something you sent, email hello@plik.fun with roughly when you sent it and what it said.

The website itself

This site uses no cookies and no ad tracking; fonts are served from this site. To know how many people visit and play, this site (Cloudflare Web Analytics) and the Magical Pen app (Vercel Web Analytics) use anonymous visit statistics: no cookies, no personal profiles, no tracking across sites. All I see are totals, such as the number of visits, which pages were viewed, rough country, device type, and which site a visit came from. Day or night on the home page follows your device's local time and is not stored anywhere. If you turn the sound off, your browser remembers that choice locally; it is never sent to me.

To keep bots from flooding the form, the feedback endpoint keeps short-lived counts in server memory, keyed by a one-way hash of the visitor's address, and drops them after a few minutes. The code I wrote does not log, store or forward visitors' IP addresses.

This site (plik.fun) uses Cloudflare for its domain, hosting and email forwarding; the Magical Pen app (pen.plik.fun) is hosted on Vercel. As providers, they process requests and keep basic network logs (such as IP addresses) to run and secure the service; see their privacy policies.
